Effective leadership isn't just fitting a certain criteria people have, it's about being able to establish yourself as a leader and build communication with others, so they are able to understand what is needed of them. Employees will appreciate the communication, and the company will be rewarded in many ways. In many ways, you will also develop positive leadership results.

Being able to communicate clearly ensures that all individuals understand their roles, responsibilities, and objectives. As a leader, being able to communicate with others can minimize people walking around like their heads are chopped off. Another benefit of communication is that it can lead others to establish their trust and confidence in their leader. When you can lead and inspire others, it can motivate people to do things they could not have thought of.

Great leaders can motivate their teams to achieve shared goals with dedication and enthusiasm. Here are a few points that companies receive when they have effective leadership.

Employee Retention

When employees feel valued within their organization and by their leaders, they tend to stick around for longer periods of time. Having a great leader doesn't just benefit one employee; it benefits the whole organization. Everyone feels safe, secure, and heard.

For example, I’ve been working at Chipotle for a few years, and the reason why I stay is because the leaders listen to my thoughts and opinions,  and try their best to include me in their decision-making. When it’s time to go back to school for college, they offer me flexible hours because they understand the balance between work and school. This, in return, allows me to stay at Chipotle because they’re flexible and make me feel valued.

Customer Satisfaction

When it comes to Chick-fil-A,  there is no other company in the fast food industry that does it better than. People purely come back for the customer service factor. When people are treated with dignity and respect,  and not just as a regular customer,  it makes people want to return.

An effective leader can influence customer satisfaction without question. When it comes to having an effective leader, one of the benefits they create is understanding the needs of the customer and delivering a product that would ultimately meet the needs of its target audience. Of course,  this takes a huge investment on the team, but pays out when they conduct surveys, case studies, and sample new products.

Ultimately, when the product reaches the shelves, the customers are likely to be satisfied because of the great leadership that improves customer loyalty.

Improved Productivity

Many times, within the workplace, employees are confused about their scope of work.  They don’t know what to do or how to reach their deadlines. Having an effective leader who can communicate what’s needed to their team makes a trickle-down effect of great communication. The kind that’s easier for everyone to digest.

In doing so, this improves  productivity because everyone receives clarity on their work, and can hit their deadlines. . A great example is Tony Soprano from the hit TV show, The Sopranos. Tony established himself as a competent leader because he always listened and communicated what needed to be done. He gave all of his employees clear instructions on what was expected and their due dates.

Be an Effective Leader

In conclusion, having an effective leader at the helm of your organization can lead to many benefits, such as employee retention, customer satisfaction, and improved productivity.

When it comes to your own organization, how many leaders produce quality results with their team that don’t lead to high staff turnover or burnout?
