About the event
Professionals who work closely with communities often carry the emotional weight of others’ fear, grief, and uncertainty. Over time, this exposure can lead to secondary traumatic stress, emotional fatigue, and burnout—impacting focus, judgment, and consistency. This two-part series supports professionals operating in complex systems and high-emotional-demand environments, offering practical tools to remain grounded, ethical, and effective.
Part One focuses on internal listening and nervous system awareness. Participants learn how secondary traumatic stress lives in the body and how unprocessed stress quietly shapes reactions, tone, and attention. This session emphasizes slowing down, noticing internal cues, and practicing regulation as a form of professional responsibility—not self-indulgence. Healing in this session is inward-facing: creating enough safety in the body and mind to stay present and grounded in demanding environments.
Part Two shifts from internal awareness to relational listening and disciplined response. Participants practice how to remain emotionally present with clients, colleagues, and systems…
