Work harder. Dream bigger, but stay reasonable about it because you do not want to seem arrogant. Stay behind the scenes until someone decides you are ready for the spotlight. Do not make waves. Do not take up too much space. Do not come across as too angry, too hungry, too confident, or too anything that might “shake the table” (K. Michelle reference, IYKYK).
 
Be useful. Be available. Make yourself indispensable but never irreplaceable. Being irreplaceable means you have leverage, and leverage means power, and a woman with real power makes people very, very nervous. (Especially very insecure people.)
